Austrian Wrestling Legend Franz Pitschmann Celebrates 60th Birthday

Franz Pitschmann, the most successful wrestler of the Austrian Wrestling Federation turned 60 this week. The legendary grappler took bronze at the 1981 world championships in Oslo and in 1986  was silver at the European championships in Athens. Pitschmann qualified for the Olympic Games four times.
 
In 1976 Pitschmann took 13th in Montreal and in 1980 placed 10th in Moscow. His best perfromance came at the 1984 at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles where he was 5th followed by 6th place in 1988 in Seoul. Pitschmann was 30time Austrian champion, became Masters-World Champion and is still working for Wrestling as President of the Tyrolean Wrestling Federation and Chair Member of the Austrian Wrestling Federation. As the “engine” of the AC Hötting he is the fundament of the Club. The likeable wrestler is a hero of Austrian wrestling and respected in the international scene.
