COSIER-VEVEY, Switzerland (April 29) --- The wrestling world fell in love with Amirmohammad YAZDANI (IRI) and his massive smile after his run to the 2021 world finals. He’s a guy who understands the entertainment aspect of the sport. His post-match celebrations command the attention of the entire arena, which has led to the young Iranian becoming one of the most talked-about freestyle wrestlers in the world.

Yazdani showed his appreciation for his worldwide fan base by sitting down with United World Wrestling and answering the questions you asked. He talked about sharing the Yazdani last name with legends Reza and Hassan, what he’s afraid of, his favorite food and much more.

Three world champs highlight World Championships presser in Zagreb

ZAGREB, Croatia (September 11) -- The opening press conference of the 2025 World Championships will be highlighted by three world champions, including two Olympic champions, on September 12.

Zaurbek SIDAKOV (UWW), Akhmed TAZHUDINOV (BRN), Amir Hossein ZARE (IRI) and Ivan HUKLEK (CRO), Croatia's Tokyo Olympian attend the press conference, scheduled to be held at 15:00 hours local time in Zagreb on Friday.

United World Wrestling President Nenad LALOVIC and Croatian Wrestling Federation President Vladimir BREGOVIC will also be present at the press conference which will be held a day before the start of the World Championships.

Sidakov is a three-time world champion and Tokyo Olympic champion at 74kg while Tazhudinov won the world gold in 2023 at 97kg. He followed that up by winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, becoming Bahrain's first-ever Olympic champion in wrestling.

Zare is a two-time world champion, winning gold medal in 2021 and 2023. He also has two medals at the Olympics -- bronze in Tokyo and silver in Paris.
