Freestyle -- 57kg
World No.1 JONG Hak-Jin (PRK) returned to action for the first time since winning the 2014 Asian Games last September. The 57kg wrestler won his opening round bout versus Nikolay NOEV (TJK), 7-0. Jong's run at the top might have ended with an apt and aggressive Erdenebat BEKHBAYAR (MGL) earning the 3-2 win in the semifinals.

Freestyle -- 65kg

The upsets continued at 65kg where world No.6 GANZORIG Mandakhnaran (MGL) dropped a tight match to unranked Tomotsugu ISHIDA in the semifinals, 2-1.

Freestyle -- 125kg
Mongolia women's team head coach Batbayar BUYANDELGER (MGL) brushed off the competiton boots Wednesday, competing at 125kg to ensure that Mongolia qualified the weight for the world championships. Batbayar didn't just step on the mat and give a forfeit, but surprised many in attendance by beating Elnur JICHYLOV (TKM), 9-6.

Women's Wrestling -- 58kg
World No.1 Kaori ICHO emerged from her several months hiatus from international competiton to earn a quick technical fall against  Thi Loan NGUYEN (VIE), 10-0. Icho then found a fall against Geeta GEETA in the semifinals to advance into tonight's finals.
