AC Wals Wins Historic 50th Austrian League Title

AC Wals last week secured a historic 50th Austrian League title with win over rival KSV Götzis, 28-18. The victors were supported by a crowd of 1500 spectators which included politicians, sponsors and high profile sports personalities.
Wals Mayor Joachim Maislinger, President Ludwig Bieringer and many others were confident before the match that this will be the day to celebrate the 50th title in the history of A.C. Wals. The opponent KSV Götzis were tough competition and gave their best to spoil the landmark victory but it was not enough in the end. The KSV Gotzis team showed great courage and were accompanied by more than 150 passionate supporters that traveled the distance to support their team in Wals.
During the Greco-Roman portion of the match there were clear signs for the title defense. The wrestling hall was electric as the match result was secured before the Freestyle portion of the dual meet.
According to team president Bieringer, this achievement was a milestone in the history of A.C. Wals. Chairman Toni Marchl and Mayor Maislinger were also very proud of the performance of the team and were very satisfied with the media-outcome from the sports-community Wals-Siezenheim.
