CHOLPON­ATA, Kyrgyzstan (September 08) -- Day two of Men’s Belt­ Wrestling Alysh at World Nomad Games brought the host six medals while Turkmens collected half of the golds. Kyrgyzstan sent two wrestlers in the finals of 60 and 100 KG and also managed to collect four bronze medals at 70, 80, 90 and +100 KG.

That desire to win the final eventually came through in 60 KG of MCS for Didar SATBAEV of Kazakhstan who had failed to win the gold in the final of MFS on day one. Nurlan SADYRALY (KGZ) claimed the second place followed by bronze winners Rouhollah NEMATIAN (IRI) and TONASHYALAJIT (IND)

Staying unbeatable in all finals of the event Turkmen wrestlers beat their opponents in 70, 90, and +100 KG of MCS as well. Medet HALLYGURANOV (TKM) upset Russian Artur ZULKARNAEV to claim the gold medal of 70 KG while Islam FALIHOVA (RUS) shared bronze medal with Myrzabek KOCHKOROV (KGZ)

Despite being failed to advance to the final of MFS at 80 KG Igor BESLEAGA earned the sole gold medal for Moldavia by winning over Zinnur GAISIN (RUS). Ivan TURYANICA (UKR) clawed his way back to even things up at 2­2, but lost to Gaisin by fall after a long 3 minutes and shared the bronze medal with Esenbek KUDAIBERDIEV (KGZ).

The final match of 90 KG in MCS had the same finalists of MFS where Iran’s Davood AVAZ repeated his lost against Gylych JUMAYEV (TKM). While Kairat MAMATZAKIROV (KGZ) earned another bronze medal for the host, Lithuania captured their sole medal by Donatas NEDZINSKAS winning a bronze medal.

Local favorite, Nurbek AKANOV captured men’s sole gold medal for Kyrgyzstan winning over the champion of the MFS, Obidali MAVLONOV (UZB) at 100 KG.. After an upset in the quarterfinal of MFS on day one Anatoli MOLDOVAN (MDA) did not give up and shared the bronze of MCS with Bekbol NURLANULY (KAZ)

Winning over Sherzorbek RACHIM (UZB) at the final of +100 KG, Rejepaly OROZLYYEV completed Turkmenistan’s gold medals series at the World Nomad Games. Despite his teammate in MFS, Andrei NIKITCHENKO failed to make it to the final of 100 KG and earned another bronze medal for Ukraine in MCS. Abdimalik MULLAZHA’s bronze medal completed the host’s six­pack medals on day two.

Repeating their gold medals on day two of Belt ­Wrestling Alysh ELISEEVA, MADRAJMOVA, HAJIBAEVA and SURKIEVA stayed dominant in WCS too.

Russian Kamila Eliseeva and Elizaveta KAZANTSEVA became the only final winners over Turkmen wrestlers beating Lachynn BADAGALIEV and Rano UZAKOVA at 55 and 70 KG respectively. Iran’s medal hopeful, Yeganeh Gharib advanced to the repechage of the 55 KG but failed to capture bronze medal. The Ecuadorian silver winner of WFS experienced a harder time in WCS managing to share bronze medal with E lza ABDYKADYROVA (KGZ)

Iran’s Reyhaneh SHEYKHAN secured her silver medal beating Dasha TOKMANCEVA (EST) and Meerim MIRAMIDIN (KGZ) at 60 KG. She lost a close match to Zuhra Madrajmova, the same Turkmen champion of WFS. Bronze medals of the 60 KG went to KALUGINA and Meerim MIRAMIDIN (KGZ)

The final match of 65 KG became the re­battle of Gulnar Hajibaeva (TKM) and Sabira MIRZAGALIEVA (KAZ). Making less mistakes compared to their first match Mirzagalieva showed a better performance in WCS yet lost to the champion Hajibaeva 3­1. Russia Enje USUPOVA and Iran’s Zahra RAHNAMA shared the third place.

With wins over Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Nasiba Surkieva advanced to the final of 75 KG and won her second gold medal at the World Nomad Games beating Attynai MAMARASUL (KGZ). Two­times World Wushu Champion, Maliheh FAZLI won her first World Belt­ Wrestling Alysh title sharing a bronze medal with Kumush JULDASHEVA (UZB)

While Svetlana TUBA (SRB) claimed the gold medal of heavy weight in WFS beating Nagira SARBASHOVA (KGZ) she failed to stood at the first podium of WCS losing to local favorite, Dildora RAHMANOVA at the final of +75 KG. In a narrow loss, Zolzhargal DAGVADORJ captured two bronze medals for Mongolia sharing the third place with Gulnar AMANTAEVA (KAZ) and Maksuda EGEMBERDIEVA (TKM) in WFS and WCS, respectively.

Belt Wrestling Alysh World Championship at World Nomad Games has become, in many aspects, a meaningful experience for the wrestlers who were getting involved in their first world­class event.

“It was full of stress yet pleasant. Being there to challenge myself and my opponents was the best feeling I have ever had in my life. I will come back for the gold,” bronze medalist of 65 KG Zahra Rahnama said.
