Japan Adds Five Golds on Third Day of Cadet Asian C'Ships

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (May 12) – Japanese women reigned supreme on the third day of wrestling at the 2018 Cadet Asian Championships, winning all five gold medals.
Anna UENO (JPN) kicked off the Japanese gold medal parade by blanking Enkhzul BATBAATAR (MGL), 5-0 for the top spot at 43kg.
Ueno committed to seven right sided swing singles but was only able to capitalize on two opportunities during the four-minute gold-medal bout. A failed Mongolian challenge gave Ueno the 5-0 victory.

Akari FUJINAMI (JPN) awarded Japan their second gold of the day with a 50-second fall over Shokhida AKHMEDOVA (UZB) in the 49kg finals.
At 57kg, Nonoka OZAKI (JPN) provided Japan with their third gold medal of the day after picking up a 37-second 10-0 technical superiority victory over India’s Mansi MANSI.
Honoka NAKAI’s (JPN) 3-2 victory over ZHOU Xinru (CHN) in the 65kg championship bout sealed Japan’s fourth day three gold medal.
The difference in the match came with 20 seconds left as Nakai picked up her first takedown to give herself a three-point cushion, ultimately winning 3-2.
Yuka KAGAMI (JPN) closed out Japan’s quest for five gold medals with a 90-second 12-0 technical superiority victory over Svetlana OKNAZAROVA (UZB).

Iran kicked off Freestyle action by winning all three weight classes on the third day of wrestling at the Cadet Asian Championships.
Mohammad KARIMISEIFABAD (IRI) used an eight-point first period against Bekzat ZHALGASSOV (KAZ) to win the 65kg championship bout, 8-2.
Mohammad NOKHODILARIMI’s (IRI) 14-4 routing of Alinur TAKIROV (KGZ) in the 71kg finals match gave Iran their second gold medal of the day.
Finally, Mohammadreza GHIYASI (IRI) completed Iran's run to three gold medals by picking up a takedown with seven seconds left to steal the 80kg gold medal from Mukhammadrasul RAKHIMOV (UZB), 7-6.
