#TBT: Mensah-Stock Stops Oborududu in 68kg Olympic Finals

Tamyra MENSAH-STOCK ?? cruised to a three-point win over Blessing OBORUDUDU ?? in the 68kg finals and became the first black woman to win Olympic gold. After her win in Tokyo, Mensah-Stock owns the 3-0 match-advantage over Oborududu heading into the ’21 World Championships ?? (October 2-10).

But, similar to the Tokyo Olympics, Mensah-Stock and Oborududu are seeded first and second, respectively, and if the seeds hold true, the pair of rivals could meet on October 7 with world gold on the line.

- ’18 Beat the Streets (2-1)
- ’19 World Championships (6-1)
- ’20 Matteo Pellicone (3-1)
- ’21 Tokyo Olympics (4-1)

Cuba Hosts Level 1 Coaches Course in Santiago

UWW Educator, Juan Maren Delis (CUB) conducted a theoretical course for forty Cuban coaches from 20 to 21 July 2020.

The course took place thanks to the initiative of the National and Regional Olympic Wrestling Federations of  Cuba at the auditorium of the University of Medicine of Oriente with unprecedented participation.

The course was only theoretical due to the current health restrictions and covered several theoretical areas such as; coaches behavior, educational and training values of Olympic wrestling, coaches role with youth and much more.

The participants were very pleased with the course and content delivered by the educator with the hope to take part in the practical session before the end of the year.
