ALMATY, Kazakhstan (June 10) -- Bolay Turlykhanov Cup in Almaty saw some of the biggest Greco-Roman stars in action. The field was highlighted by world and Olympic champion Mohammadreza GERAEI (IRI).

Iran did send a strong team but so did Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Turkey too had entered a few of their star wrestlers and ended up winning three gold medals.

55kg: GOLD - Marlan MUKASHEV (KAZ) vs. Poya DAD MARZ (IRI)

 

60kg: GOLD - Ali Reza NEJATI (IRI) vs. Pouya NASERPOUR (IRI)

 

63kg: GOLD - Kerem KAMAL (TUR) vs. Bagylan ZHAKANSHA (KAZ)

 

67kg: GOLD - Abror ATABAEV (UZB) vs. Joni KHETSURIANI (GEO)

 

72kg: Round 3 - Meiirzhan SHERMAKHANBET (KAZ) vs. Mohammadreza GERAEI (IRI)

Lee re-elected as President of UWW Pan-American Council

MONTERREY, Mexico (May 8) -- Francisco LEE will continue as the President of the UWW Pan-American Council after being re-elected on Wednesday.

The elections, held on the sidelines of the 2025 Pan-American Championships, saw five members being re-elected and two elected as new members.

Manuel ESPINOZA (CHI)

Newly elected members
Rich BENDER (USA)
Jose BARRETO (VEN)

After the elections, the council's executive board elected the office bearers with Lee re-elected as the President.

Diaz was given the position of General Secretary of the council while Bender, USA Wrestling Executive Director, was appointed as the Vice-President.
