BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan (June 11) -- Women's wrestling at the Ranking Series in Bishkek was expected to be dominated by China, a powerhouse. However, Ukraine had different ideas.

Ukraine showed by in big numbers and outperformed other nations in the third Ranking Series event, winning three gold medals. China and Kazakhstan won two each while India and Kyrgyzstan won one each.

GOLD: 53kg - Khulan BATKHUYAG (MGL) vs. Otgonjargal GANBAATAR (MGL)

GOLD: 55kg - Marina SEDNEVA (KAZ) vs. Karla GODINEZ (CAN) 

GOLD: 57kg -  Alina HRUSHYNA (UKR) vs. Kexin HONG (CHN) 

GOLD: 59kg - Yuliia TKACH (UKR) vs. Solomiia VYNNYK (UKR)

GOLD: 62kg -  Ilona PROKOPEVNIUK (UKR) vs. Orkhon PUREVDORJ (MGL)

Round 4: 65kg - MANISHA (IND) vs. Purevsuren ULZIISAIKHAN (MGL)

GOLD: 68kg - Feng ZHOU (CHN) vs. Delgermaa ENKHSAIKHAN (MGL) 

Round 3: 72kg -  Zhamila BAKBERGENOVA (KAZ) vs. REETIKA (IND)

GOLD: 76kg - Aiperi MEDET KYZY (KGZ) vs. Yuanyuan HUANG (CHN)

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (June 19) — The U17 Pan-American Championships will kick-off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from Thursday at the CT Niteroi. The competition will be held on two mats.

Greco-Roman will be the first style that will begin at the U17 Pan-American Championships followed by Women’s Wrestling and then Freestyle. All bouts of Greco-Roman will be completed on Thursday. Women’s Wrestling will run on Friday and Freestyle on Saturday.
