OSLO, Norvège (4 octobre) -- Deux mois après leur rencontre en finale olympique, Abdulrashid SADULAEV (RWF) et Kyle SNYDER (USA) pourraient organiser une autre finale aux Championnats du monde. 97kg et 70kg débute lundi à l'arène Jordan Amfi. La lutte féminine sera en cours alors que la médaillée d'argent olympique Aisuluu TYNYBEKOVA (KGZ) tentera de remporter son deuxième titre mondial en 62 kg. 1110: Un autre attachement fort d'Ozaki mais cette fois Tynybekova parvient à le défendre. Mais elle traîne toujours 0-4 à deux minutes de la fin. 1140: Another strong attach from Ozaki but this time Tynybekova manages to defend that. But she still trails 0-4 with two minutes to go. Now Tynybekova on the attack and she cuts the lead to 2-4 with a takedown. Now another takedown to lead 4-4. She gets the gut but judges call it out of bounds. Long shot from Ozaki, she gets the leg but isn't able to finish. Tynybekova manages to get a takedown on the edge 6-4 and the time expires. What a match from the young star but Tynybekova using all her experience there to win

1135: Ozaki with a double leg takedown against Tynybekova and adds another to lead 4-0 early in the bout. Ozaki unfazed by the defending world champion

1130: Sakurai wins 10-4 and next on Mat B is Tokyo silver medalist Aisuluu TYNYBEKOVA (KGZ) and in blue is cadet world champion Nonoka OZAKI (JPN). Meanwhile Batirov moves on with an 8-0 win

Dixième sélection dans l'équipe US des mondiaux seniors pour Burrough

LINCOLN, Nebraska (le 13 septembre) -- Jordan Burroughs, des Sunkist Kids, s'est qualifié pour la dixième fois avec l'équipe US - mondiale ou olympique - , grâce à une impressionnante victoire lors des sélections de l'équipe US du championnat du monde tenues dans sa ville natale et universitaire de Lincoln dans le Nebraska, dimanche dernier.

Burroughs rejoint ainsi et pour la huitième fois, l'équipe des mondiaux seniors, après deux sélections olympiques. Lors de ses neuf apparitions précédentes mondiales ou olympiques, il a remporté huit médailles - cinq d'or et trois de bronze.

Il a vaincu le talentueux Alex DIERINGER des Titan Mercury WC/CKWC lors des séries finales, au grand bonheur de ses supporters locaux. Il s'est assuré une victoire par 10-5 lors de sa première rencontre, gagnant des positions clés, pour prendre rapidement la tête lors de son second combat face à Dieringer, remporté 4-3. Burroughs avait décroché le Trophée Hodge du Nebraska puis s'était entraîné là-bas avant de revenir à ses racines du Jersey avec le Pennsylvania RTC.

J’den COX, des Titan Mercury WC/NJRTC et deux fois champions du monde, a obtenu la quatrième sélection de sa carrière avec l'équipe US des mondiaux, grâce à deux combats remportés sur Kollin MOORE des Titan Mercury WC/Ohio RTC en 97kg. Cox a obtenu le jeu blanc les deux fois, la première par 5-0 et la seconde en 4-0. Cox affiche deux titres mondiaux, une médaille olympique de bronze et une médaille mondiale de bronze pour ses quatre apparitions au niveau mondial - une médaille à chaque fois.

James GREEN, des Titan Mercury WC/SERTC, fera son sixième voyage à un championnat du monde seniors après avoir remporté la catégorie de poids des 70kg par une double victoire sur Ryan Deakin des Titan Mercury WC/Wildcat WC. Green s'est tardivement démarqué lors du premier combat pour obtenir la victoire par décision et sur critères à 6-6. Il a cependant pris la tête et maintenu son avance de 4-2 lors de la seconde rencontre avec Deakin. Comme Burroughs, il fut une star du Nebraska et s'entaîna là-bas pendant des années avant de partir pour le Virginia Tech. Green a une médaille mondiale d'argent 2017 et une de bronze 2015 à son tableau.

Deux fois médaillé mondial de bronze, Nick GWIAZDOWSKI des Titan Mercury WC/Spartan Combat RTC s'est qualifié pour son quatrième championnat du monde seniors après deux victoires sur le champion du monde junior 2019 Mason PARRIS des Cliff Keen WC en 125kg. Gwiazdowski a affiché un avantage en termes de puissance et de technique, remportant le premier combat par 6-0 puis le second par 10-3.

Pour assurer sa seconde apparition avec l'équipe US, Daton FIX des Titan Mercury WC/CWC a vaincu par deux fois Nathan Tomasello des Titan Mercury WC/OKRTC en 61kg. Fix fut agressif lors des deux combats, et remporte la première rencontre par 8-3 et la seconde par jeu blanc 7-0. 

Le seul nouveau venu de cette équipe US est donc Yianni DIAKOMIHALIS, des Titan Mercury WC/Spartan Combat WC, qui a eu besoin de trois combats pour vaincre le coriace Joey MCKENNA des Titan Mercury WC/PRTC) en 65kg. Les exploits héroïques reviennent à McKenna, qui en contre-prise de mise en danger a remporté le premier combat par 8-7. Diakomihalis s'est ensuite redressé pour une victoire par 5-2 au deuxième combat. Dans la rencontre décisive, Diakomihalis s'est libéré en attaque, obtenant la supériorité technique par 12-2 - et une place dans l'équipe US. 

Quatre médaillés olympiques ont également choisi de concourir au championnat du monde, et leurs catégories de poids n'ont pas été contestées ; il s'agit du champion olympique David Taylor (86kg) et des médaillés de bronze Kyle Snyder (97kg), Thomas Gilman (57kg) et Kyle Dake (74kg).
