OSLO, Norvège (4 octobre) -- Deux mois après leur rencontre en finale olympique, Abdulrashid SADULAEV (RWF) et Kyle SNYDER (USA) pourraient organiser une autre finale aux Championnats du monde. 97kg et 70kg débute lundi à l'arène Jordan Amfi. La lutte féminine sera en cours alors que la médaillée d'argent olympique Aisuluu TYNYBEKOVA (KGZ) tentera de remporter son deuxième titre mondial en 62 kg. 1110: Un autre attachement fort d'Ozaki mais cette fois Tynybekova parvient à le défendre. Mais elle traîne toujours 0-4 à deux minutes de la fin. 1140: Another strong attach from Ozaki but this time Tynybekova manages to defend that. But she still trails 0-4 with two minutes to go. Now Tynybekova on the attack and she cuts the lead to 2-4 with a takedown. Now another takedown to lead 4-4. She gets the gut but judges call it out of bounds. Long shot from Ozaki, she gets the leg but isn't able to finish. Tynybekova manages to get a takedown on the edge 6-4 and the time expires. What a match from the young star but Tynybekova using all her experience there to win

1135: Ozaki with a double leg takedown against Tynybekova and adds another to lead 4-0 early in the bout. Ozaki unfazed by the defending world champion

1130: Sakurai wins 10-4 and next on Mat B is Tokyo silver medalist Aisuluu TYNYBEKOVA (KGZ) and in blue is cadet world champion Nonoka OZAKI (JPN). Meanwhile Batirov moves on with an 8-0 win

Le Canada remporte le titre de meilleure équipe en lutte féminine aux Championnats Pan American

Samedi, aux Championnats Pan American, la compétition a été rude : 16 champions ont été nommés en lutte libre et en lutte féminine.

Le programme a été légèrement modifié et les deux styles ont lieu en même temps au Pan American Judo Center. L'arène a du être évacuée vendredi pour cause d'incendie durant les premiers rounds de qualification de lutte gréco-romaine. Une fois que le bâtiment était sécurisé, les officiels d'United World Wrestling ont décidé que la compétition de lutte gréco-romaine aurait lieu samedi matin, et que la compétition de lutte libre suivrait.

Cuba, qui domine d'habitude la compétition de lutte gréco-romaine, a vu son équipe réduite ce week end, deux champions olympiques et un No. 1 mondial étant absents. Mais cela n'a pas empêche le pays de montrer sa force aux nations Pan American.

Le No. 1 mondial Ismail BORRERO MOLINA (CUB), champion olympique en titre à 59 kg, devait participer au tournoi mais a échoué à la pesée jeudi. Le triple champion olympique Mijain LOPEZ NUNEZ (CUB), également No. 1 mondial, ne s'est pas inscrit. A la tête de l'équipe cubaine se trouvait le médaillé d'argent olympique de 2016 Yasmany Daniel LUGO CABRERA (CUB). Il est l'un des quatre champions de Cuba. Lugo Cabrera a gagné à 98 kg, battant le médaillé de bronze des championnats du monde junior et No. 18 mondial G’Angelo HANCOCK (USA) 5-3 en demi-finales.

A 130 kg, Oscar PINO HANDS (CUB) a battu le médaillé olympique de 2016 et No. 20 mondial Robert SMITH (USA) 4-2.

Les autres champions de Cuba étaient le No. 12 mondial Miguel MARTINEZ PALACIOS, qui a gagné son quatrième titre consécutif des Pan Am à 66kg, et Yurisandy HERNANDEZ RIOS (CUB) à 75kg.

Bien que Cuba compte quatre champion individuels, ce sont les Etats-Unis qui ont remporté le titre de meilleure équipe de lutte gréco-romaine avec trois médailles d'or et deux médailles de bronze.

 

Le double médaillé olympique Benjamin PROVISOR (USA) a battu le champion du Cerro Pelado International Daniel GREGORICH HECHAVARRIA sur critères, 2-2, en finale à 85 kg. Les autres médaillés d'or des USA sont Patrick SMITH (USA) à 71kg et Cheney HAIGHT (USA) à 80kg.

Le champion des Jeux Pan American 2015 Andres Roberto MONTANO ARROYA (ECU) était au sommet de sa forme ce week end. Il a battu Jancel Miguel PIMENTEL GONZALEZ (DOM) 4-2 en finale à 59 kg.

Chez les femmes, ce sont les Etats-Unis et le Canada qui se sont disputés le titre de meilleure équipe. Le Canada a remporté le titre grâce à cinq médaillées d'or. Les USA comptaient 3 championnes.

La championne Justina DISTASIO (CAN) a gagné le titre à 75 kg, catégorie ou étaient présentes trois lutteuses qui figurent au classement mondial. Distasio, qui est No. 4 mondiale, a remporté quatre matchs dans la journée pour gagner l'or. Elle a notamment dominé la No. 11 mondiale Aline DA SILVA FERREIRA (BRA) 7-0 et la No. 18 mondiale Andrea Carolina OLAYA GUTIERREZ (COL) 1-0.

La triple médaillée mondiale Jessica MACDONALD (CAN) a battu la No. 13 mondiale Carolina CASTILLO HIDALGO (COL) en finale à 53 kg, 5-4.

Les No. 7 mondiales Michelle FAZZARI (CAN), Braxton STONE (CAN) et Olivia DI BACCO (CAN) ont remporté l'or pour le Canada à 58 kg, 63 kg et 69 kg.

La médaillée d'argent des championnats du monde Allison RAGAN (USA) a gagné deux fois par supériorité technique avant de remporter le titre à 60 kg. La No. 8 mondiale Victoria ANTHONY (USA) a gagné ses trois matchs à 48 kg par supériorité technique. La No. 19 mondiale Becka LEATHERS (USA)  a remporté son premier titre senior des Pan American à 55 kg grâce à quatre victoires.

Les championnats Pan American reprennent dimanche à 10h du matin, heure locale, avec la lutte libre. Les finales commenceront à 17h heure locale.
